Collaboration the name of the game

This collaboration saw a highly specialised Wescott rope access team and AISS perform a confined space rope access and integrity survey of a 26-meter-tall Air Separation Unit (ASI) at Air Liquide’s Altona North plant in Melbourne Victoria.

The AISS scope included very low pressure gas leak detection surveys of all internal and external potential leak sources using airborne and contact ultrasonic leak detection technology.

Wescott’s scope included removing insulation via rope access and vacuum extraction from inside the ASU, remediating corrosion and irregularities and providing a Rescue Coordination and Confined Space Entry Standby Team for AISS.

Wescott teamed up with AISS Director Antoine Hanekom some years ago, and Wescott General Manager Ralf Cameron said “it has been great working with Antoine again. He is highly regarded by Wescott for his ingenuity and work in developing leak detection technology. We recognise the value in such a collaboration, and it fits well with Wescott’s ability to offer turnkey asset integrity management solutions for our clients.”
